Early Days

This was a major breakthrough for me as it represented a contact between the observed world and my two dimensional geometric obsessions. It is actually the alleyway behind the ABC cinema in Richmond-upon-Thames. I took some pencilled notes of the plants growing up behind the wall and noted the colours of specific tubes of oils that I had bought. I then went home, sketched out the outlines of these areas of colours on a piece of oil painting board, and filled these colours in. It was a breakthrough; I was in contact with the world around me again via art.
AND guess what? I've just sold it to a chap in Texas.
